Right now 90% or more of the teams I face have the Maw. Unfortunately the only way I've found to fight a Maw deck effectively and efficiently is with your own Maw. Fill up your Maw as soon as possible, have it eat the biggest threat, then cycle Alc/IK and annihilate everything else. (I don't have Maw traited because I didn't want to spend the glory on its traitstones knowing full well that it will be nerfed eventually, let's hope. Nice team bonuses (undead & Ghulvania) & easy wins without taking much damage. The more mana opponent troops need & the more armor they have, the more i smile when i use Morthani's Will, hehehe Many opponents use Valk, so it's nice for my Banshee, when there are many blue gems to convert for increasing damage & maybe getting extra turns ;-) This maybe sounds risky, but i only let Valk cast a spell, when there will be no benefits for her team. he addition of Ancient Horror means you get 7 mana minimum from a purple match, so 2 matches will fill Creeping Death. Also, the Horror is good for wiping out that last straggler on the opposing team. I avoid all of the mana-drain defense teams if at all possible so I'm not too sure how it fares against them, but I think it shouldn't have any more trouble with them than other decks. - #Gorgotha #InfernalKing #Mercy #Sheggra #HolyBanner

For me, Creeping Death starts at 28 damage to all on top of the death marks it hands out, so cast that 3 times and any other team is dead. I keep thinking there is a better option for #3 spot than Behemoth, but if there is I can't figure it out. Maybe Soothsayer to jumpstart the deck. After many battles of rage due to traits(lol mab), this team has solved that issue for me. While also stone skin and heavy mana drain. The meta of defense teams seems to have shifted to almost the same thing, but with mab instead of sphinx, this is just a coincidence that its so much alike. I'd use a healer in slot 4 but Sphinx turned out far more useful than expected. War Sphinx is a hidden gem, easily overlooked. It costs only 7, fills nearly every time Valkyrie casts. Extra turn with shuffle is amazing, nearly every cast is a guaranteed 4-5 match or skull match, so I use it almost every time it's up. Enemy going to get a match you don't want next turn? No blues lined up for Valkyrie to mana surge/extra turn? Sphinx can usually solve all of that. Real MVP here in the team, tried replacing it, nothings working as awesomely as Sphinx at mixing it up into my favor. It's like the OP luck Abhorath sometimes gets, without the risk. Once Emperor Khorvash dies(the rare times he does), Sphinx will get all the blue and fill up nearly every turn, ensuring you keep your enemy from taking anymore turns. He'll still be strong but slow down if Valkyrie dies, and now those skull matches will be hitting whatever insane damage number Manticore is at by this point. The rest of the team needs no explanation. Wish I had final trait for Khorvash. Got a neat plan for defense, need traits to make it and test it. Valkrie feeds the knight coronet and green slime, without using the coronet right away I go in order if needed, valkrie then green slime then keeper of souls KAAAABOOM!
